I love the game of Craps. Over the last three years, I’ve spent more time at a craps table than anywhere else in a UK casino and would consider myself a pretty sharp player. And that’s tough to admit in a game that is still dominated primarily by men. However, I can shoot the dice and have gradually learned to manage my money (in craps) so I want to share with you something that has worked very well for me this past year.
First of all, this is a freebie, I’m not going to charge you to buy the book on it because I’m not sure what the odds are of it working over a long period of time and the only thing I’m sure of is that it works very well with short rolls but with point-seven shooters , well, it’ll break you. So, it’s very important to watch what is going on at the table and decide if this is something that will work for you.
First, of course you need to place your passline bet and you will back it up with odds once a point is established. Then, once you have a point, you’re ready to play bingo. Place $108.00 on the felt and tell the dealer, “$108.00 across.” This will give you $20.00 each outside and $24.00 each on 6 and 8.
Keep in mind this aggressive way of betting and playing craps is not for the conservative gambler, though many craps players would look at $108.00 across as conservative, others may not. The $108.00 across also defies the more “practical” way to play which is also, I must admit, a smarter way to play conservatively and still realize profits. However, this is how I play and since I started playing this way, I win most of the time and I’ll clarify that in a moment.
The secret is to get on a table where several shooters are holding the dice longer than just a couple of rolls and this will not work if you are realizing a point-seven-point-seven scenario. What you need to do first is find the table where you have a couple of shooters or you need to be fairly confident in your own abilities.
After you have $108.00 across, wait for 2 hits ( on your numbers, don’t count horns, hardways and the like) and then back your bet down to either $27 across or to $54 across depending how you feel about your own money management strategies and what you feel comfortable with at the time. Keep in mind once you back your bet down you are now playing on the house’s dime. At this point, it is smart to press one or two, whatever you normally do and then take one or two when the dealer calls out one of your numbers as being the number rolled.
I’ve had great success with this money management system on craps but I’ll tell you, there have been moments that I’ve been heart sick because I backed my bet down and the shooter went on a roll. And this will happen. However, if you are looking for a way to gamble with a full table that is relatively hot, then over the long haul, you’ll realize success with this betting strategy.
Just remember to pay attention to your shooters. I know it’s hard to sum up a shooter and even good shooters are only as good as their last roll. Still, it’s important to keep your head in the game. If you can be alert to your surroundings, then you can win most of the time at craps.
However, and I told you we would come back to this, make sure you are paying attention to your bankroll and the game in general. Keep a keen eye on your chips and the rolls, are you winning? If you are going to play this way then you have to walk away quickly from a cold table. I’ve been able to realize success with this money management strategy because I know the table will be there later on and I’m just not going to play unless I can walk a way with a small profit at the end of an hour or so. Call me a poor sport, I like to win and refuse to lose. |
